#5 Overwatch Contenders Finals – MindFreak Vs Order

The overwatch contenders series give us a chance to see the stars of tomorrow today. It gives us some insight into the next generation of talent and allows us to determine what players will be the next to appear on the largest stages.

This finals match between MindFreak and Order is the pinnacle of play in the Oceanic region. These two teams have demonstrated all year long that they are the best in the region and now they get to battle for supremacy one final time. No doubt this will be a game that scouts will keep their eyes on to spot up and coming talent and if you’re a fan of Overwatch you should too. 

#4 OPL Finals – Chiefs Esports Club Vs Mammoth 

Time: Saturday, August 31st, 2:00 AM Eastern Time

The Oceanic Pro League finals are ready to go between Chiefs Esports Club and Mammoth. These were the top two teams throughout the regular season finishing at the very top of the standings and have demonstrated they earned those spots by also making it through to the playoff finals.

Although Oceana isn’t considered a top region in League of Legends the team that wins this final series will be representing the region at the World Championship, making this a worthwhile watch for any fan. This is a great opportunity to assess the caliber of both teams and the region heading into the biggest tournament of the year. 

#3 OWL Playoffs Play In – Chengdu Hunters Vs Guangzhou Charge

Time: Friday August 30th, 9:00 PM Eastern Time / 6:00 PM Pacific Time

The Overwatch League Season playoffs are set to begin but first, the final few teams that will be competing in them must be determined. The Play-In taking place this weekend will lock in those final few slots and all the action begins with a match between the Chengdu Hunters and Guangzhou Charge.

Chengdu has been a middle of the pack team all season while Guangzhou had a fantastic final split making them the obvious favorites to take this match. Still, the playoffs mean anything can happen and no team can be taken for granted. 

This will be an incredible weekend for the Overwatch League that you won’t want to miss. The playoff picture will finally come into focus and set the stage for the final few weeks of the 2019 season. 

#2 LEC Playoffs Round 2 – G2 Esports Vs Fnatic

Time: Saturday August 31st, 11:00 AM Eastern Time / 8:00 AM Pacific Time

The second round of the LEC playoffs are here and it features an incredible matchup between the top two teams from the entire split, G2 Esports and Fnatic. G2 has been the best team in Europe all year long and proved are the clear favorites to emerge as the European Champions this split. This will be especially important for G2 as the MSI champions as they will want to gear up for the World Championship and demonstrate they are not only the best team in Europe but the best team in the entire world. 

Fnatic has been fantastic this split and will certainly be able to put up a good fight. They too will want to get the most out of this playoff season as practice for that all-important World Championship.

#1 StarLadder Berlin CS:GO Major New Legend Stage

Time: August 28 – September 1st, 4:00 AM Eastern Time / 1:00 AM Pacific Time

One of the biggest CSGO major events of the year is underway in Berlin this weekend with the New Legend stage of play beginning. 16 teams will be competing for the 8 spots available in the final New Champion knockout stage.

Every team we mentioned last week aside from Hellraisers and ForZe were able to make it into this stage and demonstrated they have what it takes to compete with the best. As one of the last majors of 2019 every team is going to be doing their best to lay their claim to being the best team in the world. This weekend is the beginning of their opportunity to do just that.
