Gamer of the Week – Williams “Zayt” Aubin

We’re back with another Gamer of the Week! In our last post, we introduced you to a legend in the Halo community and an esports pioneer. This week we want to put the spotlight on a Fortnite player that is taking the competitive world by storm.

Williams “Zayt” Aubin is a 20-year-old Canadian representing NRG Esports who has quickly become one of the most well-known names in that competitive environment. He began competing in 2017, getting in on the ground floor of Fortnite esports competitions. Finishing in the top 10 of all three of his first events with NRG, picking up his first tournament victory there as well in Week 3 of the North American Summer Skirmish.

While he is undoubtedly an incredibly talented Solo competitor he has truly become famous for his outstanding performance in Duo events alongside his teammate Rocco “Saf” Morales. The pair is unquestionably one of the premier Duos in the game and are expected to be in the running to win the World Cup next weekend. Together they have won five tournaments, including the Katowice Royal, Scallywag Cup, and the first-ever official Trio Cash Cup last weekend. They also qualified for the World Cup, winning the Week 4 Qualifier, and Zayt was able to qualify for the Solo World Cup as well finishing in second place in week 5.

He only began competing seriously in 2017 but has already made massive strides towards becoming one of the most recognizable names in the highly competitive Fortnite scene.

Although his career is young it is already highly decorated making it important to highlight some of his greatest achievements. We’ve listed these for you below:

  • Trios Cash Cup #1 Champion
  • World Cup Week 4 Qualifiers North America East Duo Champion
  • Katowice Royale 2019 Champion
  • Scallywag Cup North America West Duo Champion
  • Summer Skirmish North America Week 3

His accomplishments to date have been impressive, but he isn’t done competing yet. You can watch him at the World Cup in New York this weekend, and likely for years to come.
